Blog 6: I study anthropology and the truth is a bit exhausting. It is a career with a multitude of applications and a multitude of currents of thought. It is very dispersed as a discipline and on many issues there are still many disagreements. It's hard to understand a lot of things and sometimes it makes me want to give up. But I am still here, because I am passionate and fascinated, and because I decided to finish this degree since my hopes and those of my family that supports me are that I will achieve it. Sometimes it is frustrating trying to understand the complex worldviews that authors have built in their heads over the years and pretending to learn all of that in a short time, and even more so, it is quite a challenge trying to apply concepts so abstract that They may look like castles in the air. I suppose that I am not a very high being, but pragmatic. I am sure that I will not be the next Claude Lévi-Strauss. Anyway, I am here to integrate archeology mention, which I su...

Post 5: I could have chosen any of the other photos I have of my grandmother, as I have so many. Maybe I chose this one because in this one she is with his favorite dog (because she has many dogs and loves them very much). But mainly I have chosen a photograph of my grandmother because she is currently going through a very complicated health situation. She has not been infected with COVID-19, but it is clear that she is probably living her last months of life due to other health conditions that she had prior to the pandemic (and that I will not detail because it is not appropriate to do in this context). At this time, as a family, we have a very difficult time, and especially my grandmother, who has cared for and loved us all, and is now suffering. She is the most courageous person I have ever known, and it pains us that things turn out to be so bad for someone who has done so much good. But this has left me a valuable lesson for me in particular: that we must take advantage of ev...

Post 3: My precious. My favorite piece of technology is my ACER aspire Blue, a very old laptop that has been with me since I was 12 years old. The state of Chile gave it to me for my good grades. It was my first computer. It helped me for years to study, not only for the school but also for my particular academic interests. It was also my exclusive entertainment medium for a long time. To this day I continue to use it every day, now for online classes, my entire academic life passes on this screen, this device is so valuable to me, it continues to hold up after all this time. If he didn't have it now, he would be completely isolated from the rest of the world, and from the classes of course. If I didn't have my precious I might be crazy due to quarantine.
Post 4: My passion. I love writing, that's why I'll talk about the process of writing literature. First, the writing activity must be done out of passion and free will. Nothing worthy will come out of those who do not feel love for what they do, especially about artistic activity. On the other hand, you must read a lot, before being a good writer you must be a good reader. Having a rich experience in reading is vital to have a vast lexicon, to be able to express more complex and creative ideas and situations. In addition, it encourages creativity by allowing the reader to enter worlds and stories that they never conceived, which will help them develop their own creative capacity. Don't push yourself too hard. Better write at your own pace. Writing mechanically to fulfill a duty will bring you nothing but stress and the famous "writer's block."
As a child I dreamed of too many things: astronaut, soccer player, doctor, among others. However, at the end of my childhood and in my puberty I was torn between a history teacher, historian and archaeologist. At the time of facing the final decision, when applying to the different careers, in addition to applying to the career I am currently in (anthropology, major in archeology), I also choosen to pedagogy in history, pedagogy in language and pedagogy in philosophy. I decided on archeology and anthropology as the main options because I find it more exciting, interesting and important than the other options. My experience in university at the beginning was the most fascinating and enjoyable thing I had ever experienced, regardless of the efforts required. However, the current contingency has prevented us from having adequate training in recent months, which has stressed me out a lot. I would like to work in archaeological excavations, both within research projects and in rescue w...

All in Viña del Mar. Later, he completed his high school studies at Liceo José Francisco Vergara located in Gómez Carreño, Viña del Mar. Fabienne is currently studying anthropology in his second year at the University of Chile. In order to face the challenge of studying this career, he had to go live in Santiago temporarily during his first year of studies, although in the second he had to return to Viña del Mar due to the quarantines caused by COVID-19. Fabienne lives with his maternal aunt, Milixha, who is 61 years old, and his cousin, Rudy, who is 28 years old. He is also the son of a single mother.
